My Story
About 3 years ago I was invited to the 5th anniversary of a network marketing company. Outwardly, everyone looked very happy and successful. I was moved by the numerous award of money.
Needless to say that after I got assurance that I would be helped to achieve similar success, I registered!
Soon after the registration I was asked to make a list of 100 people comprising my friends and family. Soon after I was asked to recall people such as my mechanic, tailor, barber etc.
Out of all those lists, I could only recruit 6 people. Of those 6 people, I paid for 4 to be recruited.
I was already on the verge of giving up when my up-line asked me to lend her a measly sun of 25, 000 naira (an equivalent of about $70. I was ashamed. With the level of her prospecting everyone that came across her way, I was surprised she did not have $70 equivalent. I quietly left her and the company.
Then something happened that was to change my business life!
After a while I teamed up with a couple to float a network marketing company that deals with real estate. They wanted me to also walk the streets prospecting everyone that come my way.
I could not meet up with their expectation and that resulted in a series of misunderstanding.
In the course of settling our differences, the woman called me backwardness because I could only recruit one person to the business.
I was shocked. I bowed down my head for a few seconds as I thought of how best to respond.
As I raised my head and looked in her direction, she nodded her head, looked straight into my eyes and said: “Yes, I mean it. You are backwardness. Otherwise tell me why you are only able to recruit one person since 10 months.”
Before then they had expected me to join them in walking from shop to shop prospecting clients. But I hated going from shop to shop prospecting for clients that will buy land. I hated the rejection. I hated the disregards that follow it. I hated the looks of disapproval in the eyes of my friends and family members.
So I was quietly studying to see the better way to do the network marketing thing than doing it the way that leaves me dissatisfied and unfulfilled. More on this matter later.
The mockery statement at the first time angered me. Eventually anger gave way to the stark reality. The stark reality was that I was a failure as far as that style of network marketing is concerned.
The stark reality eventually spurred up a challenge. The challenge became the turning point in my network marketing journey. It made me to intensify my search and study for a better way.
It took time and money but I am so glad I learnt to do the right thing the better way.
After I have learnt the better and modern way, I saw how that 97% of network marketers are doing the wrong thing online and so not getting reasonable result. In fact, what I see many people doing hinder their success without their knowing it.

It recently has been a lot of fun and the journey is becoming sweeter with each passing day. I keep learning new things as I want my today to be in competition with my yesterday. Also dealing with clients with different challenges is itself challenging.
